This design proposal, a competition entry for the European Architectural Competition "Room 18" organized by the International Review of Architecture "DOMES," aims to redefine the concept of privacy within a refuge amidst the bustling urban environment. The competition focused on redesigning an urban hotel room of 18-24 m² for two, following the standards of the Greek Organization of Tourism (EOT). To enhance the sense of tranquility, visual clutter from furniture is minimized. A 1-meter-thick mass is introduced into the empty space, with all traveler activities integrated into floor recesses. Vertical boundaries are also removed, with varying depths creating different levels of privacy across the room's areas.
